Roanoke Star continued their great run at the CASL Shootout this weekend. At
the end of the weekend the Star teams had added two winners and a finalist
to the 14 Girls team that won the event last week. The U11 Boys Elite won
their division, winning all four games in a tremendous advert for attacking,
skillful soccer. The U14 Boys Elite also finished as Champions after 4
victories, including a tight 1-0 victory over VCCL rival, Beach FC. The 13
Boys Elite advanced to the final but were unable to grab the victory but
performed very well to advance. Also at the tournament were the 15 Boys
Elite who finished a respectable 1-1-1 in the top division.
Congratulations to all the players for a great showing this weekend. Our
CASL tournament record at this stage stands at 3 Champions and 1 Finalist
after two weekends! This coming weekend the 16 Boys (Premier and Elite), 17
Boys (Premier blue and Elite) and the 18 Boys Elite all travel to Raleigh
for the showcase games in front of hundreds of college coaches.

Details of the indoor program have now been released. The program will
concentrate on individual skill development and will incorporate striking
the ball, 1v1 defending and 1v1 attacking. There will also be some focus on
small group tactics and understanding.
